Unanimous Endorsement of Carr Center at Feb 24 Planning and Zoning Meeting

On February 24, the Planning and Zoning Board gave a unanimous endorsement of the Carr Center plans! A preliminary development plan for the Carr Center and adjacent Town of Cary-owned lot received high praise from board members. The project was cited as desperately needed and the kind of innovation required to address housing issues in Cary and beyond.

This unanimous endorsement of the Carr Center comes ahead of the critical rezoning vote by the Cary Town Council on April 24 at 6:30pm. Mark your calendars to attend this meeting if you would like to support this ongoing effort to provide critical resources and services to our community.

What is the Carr Center?

The Timothy Ash Carr Center is a dynamic mixed-used development to address key community needs; with access to affordable housing at its foundation.

The Carr Center aims to provide not just housing, but a holistic approach to community care. Additionally, community partners The Carying Place and the YMCA will also provide programming in the Carr Center.

Who are the partners?

The Carr Center is a joint effort of Greenwood Forest Baptist Church (and its preschool, the Greenwood Forest Children’s Center), DHIC (affordable housing developer), The Carying Place (non-profit working with working homeless families with children), and the YMCA of the Triangle.

Where is the Carr Center?

The Carr Center will be located on the campus of Greenwood Forest Baptist Church in Cary, North Carolina (110 SE Maynard Road Cary, NC 27511).
