In August 2025 The Canopy, the affordable housing component of The Timothy Ash Carr Center, was awarded an allocation of Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) for 2025 by the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency.  This commitment represents a significant portion of the funds needed to construct affordable housing, and marks the crossing of a major milestone in bringing The Canopy (and, by extension, The Timothy Ash Carr Center) to life.  With the award in hand, the development team will now work with partners to secure investors interested in purchasing the available tax credits.
